Week 2

I'm very happy with my two Employment English classes so far! You are all working together and helping each other which is nice to see.

Today, I asked you to spend some time to think about what kind of job you'd like to have in the future! I know this is a difficult step but it will help make it easier for you to write a resume later on (and prepare for an interview). Please don't forget to think about all the different kinds of benefits you want from a company and what will make you happy in the future!

In the end, if you know what kind of job you want to apply for, it will save you a lot of time and energy especially when you are sending your resumes to different companies!

At the same time, don't forget companies are looking for different qualifications from people which you can read more about on Job Profile sites. Do you have the qualifications your company is looking for?

Week 1

Hi!

I'm really looking forward to teaching you Employment English this semester. I realize finding a job in Korea is very difficult these days so I will do my best to help each of you prepare for not only an English interview but also show you how to write a coherent English resume (+ cover letter).

Hopefully, by the end of the semester you are more confident about your skills and will be able to successfully enter the work world!

In this blog, I will keep you up to date on everything that is going on in class. I will also use it to give you directions about how to use my website and other multimedia I'm going to use. Today, I would like to post my first video showing you how to sign up for my website (http://tylereslclass.info/). I know many of you are good at using computers, so if some of your classmates need help, please help them.

My second video shows you how to upload a picture and introduce yourself on my website.

If you have any problems, please come to my office for assistance.

Also, I will be attaching a few surveys in my blog to see how my students feel about English! Please answer the survey about "Confidence" below!:
